V.F.W. To Present New Radio Program:

A new radio program, starting Sunday at 6:15 p.m. on WGNC, has been scheduled by the national headquarters of Veterans of Foreign Wars. It is "Our Land Be Bright," and the first of the series of 13 programs will be broadcast from Hollywood, Cal., starring Jeanne Craine in "The Flower of Remembrance." The program follows Drew Pearson and his newscast. Kenneth Dellinger, commander of hte Gastonia VFW post, announced that a membership drive will be kicked off this Tuesday night at the regular meeting, and the drive for new members will run concurrently with the radio series. The post now has about 85 members and hopes to build up to 400. New officers are to be sworn in this Tuesday night, and a representative of the national headquarters will be here to preside at the ceremony. In the show appeared a good deal star power, including Henry Fonda, Joan Fontaine, Bob Hope, Herbert Marshall, Jack Carson and others.
